AMBITION cannot find him
AMBITION cannot find him, / Affection doesn't know
THE props assist the house
Until the house is built,
And then the props withdraw–
And adequate, erect,
The house supports itself;
Ceasing to recollect

And slowness,–then the scaffolds drop–
Affirming it a soul.
AMBITION cannot find him, / Affection doesn't know

Poor little heart! / Did they forget thee?
These are the days when birds come back, / A very few, a bird or two,
